These guys did a fantastic job on our front lawn. Removed ALL of the weeds, laid the new sod - and trimmed it up very nicely along the beds and walkways! Very pleased. I had to find 2 sprinkler heads and need to dig out my water meter, but that's okay! 😂 I would definitely recommend them.After mowing a few times, there are many gaps, making mowing a time when I have to be careful not to turn my ankle and get injured. Will need to bring in some fill dirt. The grass does look great and those gaps will fill in eventually. Just check the install before they leave!

I was in the market initially for several pallets of St. Augustine sod. This was one of 5 or 6 local suppliers in Volusia County I contacted. I spoke directly to David, the owner. No other supplier would beat or match his price. I then read his Google reviews. As you can see they are all very positive. I can tell you that was my experience today as well.I picked up the sod I ordered this morning. All of the sod was excellent.Do your due diligence. Call this business first then call others. I doubt anyone will beat his price.I picked up the sod and laid it myself. I can't speak for his crew that lays the sod but according to those who used him, they were satisfied.FYI... if you pick up the sod he is not located at the address on the Google website (Angelas Road).

Three Reasons Orange City Lawns Stay Hungry - and Why Watering More Makes It Worse

A thin Orange City lawn is almost never a lack of effort. It’s usually a homeowner doing everything right on ground that gives it all back. Here’s what we check before quoting a single pallet – and why the standard advice costs you money without fixing anything.

What actually moves a Orange City lawn care quote?

The sand gives everything back. Orange City sits in a high-recharge zone feeding Blue Spring, and the soil here is known for letting nutrients leach straight through. Water your lawn more and most of the extra goes past the roots within hours. Feed it more and the same thing happens. You’re not underwatering — you’re watering into a colander. Until something in that top layer can hold moisture, more of anything is just a bigger bill.

Nobody built the soil before laying the grass. This is the step that gets skipped, because it’s slow, it’s invisible once the sod is down, and it costs the contractor a day. Working quality top soil into the top few inches gives roots something to grip and gives water somewhere to stay. Sod laid straight onto raw sand roots shallow, dries out first in every dry spell, and thins out on schedule every year.

The irrigation has a weak zone you can’t see. On heavier soil a poorly covered corner takes a season to show. On Orange City sand it shows in a fortnight. Half the “dead patches” we’re called to look at aren’t a grass problem at all – they’re a head, a pressure drop or a spacing gap, and fixing that costs a fraction of re-sodding.
